WHFR Radio Staff Training

Community Ed Enrichment / Adult Enrichment / Personal Development -
Winter 2025

Experience local radio broadcasting and maybe even become a volunteer staff member with WHFR Radio Staff Training.  Radio station rules and procedures, basic equipment operation and performance skills will be covered.  WHFR is an independent, non-commercial, FM broadcast radio station, operating from Henry Ford College, with a student and alumni volunteer staff of about 60 persons.  WHFR provides programming every day of the year and also broadcasts a world-wide live stream through its website, www.whfr.fm.  WHFR features an "Alternative Variety" format-- music and information little heard elsewhere on other Detroit area stations, including local, independent music topical local news and public affairs.  Classes meet on the main campus of Henry Ford College, M Building, Room 117 unless informed otherwise.  There is an online component that houses your assignments, materials, etc., that will be explained on the first day of class.  An email address is required for access.
